Added CEM (Cubic Environment Mapping) water effects to the current build. Tried adding bump mapping aswell but combining with CEM seemed to turn the bump map into an alpha channel (ODD!) Anyway CEM has killed the frame rate currently (tops out @ 22 fps on my rig). I believe that cutting down the amount of gemoetry rendered to the cubemaps will up fps again!) Looks very pretty mind.
RRL is now pretty much going to be developed as my degree portfolio rather than full development as a game engine. I realised that I don't have the time to develop a game engine to suit everyone. |
