Finally got something done! :) I can now make maps with the map editor and save them! maps are created by placing lines with the mouse. Each segment of each line is saved with it's own corresponding info. Basically, The map editor is just like using a doom map editor, except that I refer to my walls as just lines, Not vertices. Currently the editor only does walls, No Floors or ceilings yet. Anywayz, Now I am going to write a routine for loading the map into the raycaster, And then try to display it(hopefully - should work) in 3d!!! :D

Damn. I didn't end up finishing the map editor last night like I thought I would. I got sidetracked again! I have been working hard on it today -- But I am going to stop trying to make predictions about when it will be done. I know it will be soon though. I am really cutting this close! I hope I can still have a basic demo ready for tomorrow as promised... Anywayz, I did get a particularly tough routine finished today in the map editor. It was really begining to pi$$ me off! So the actual drawing routines are somewhat implemented, I just need to clean them up.

Well, I have been working on this the last 2 days, But I got a cold yesterday since I stayed out too long the day before. South Dakota has some really crappy weather at times! Anywayz, I started adding some new code routines to the map editor, But haven't finished them yet. I plan on having them done by the end of today. So, I should be able to quickly create a basic map to use with my raycast engine later tonight. I will then spend tomorrow evening getting it up and running in the raycast engine.

I've actually been working on this for awhile now, But I put it off for a few months, And now I'm back to working on it again. Most of the maths for the engine are already in there -- I just need to put them all together and create the rendering sequence. I started re-making the map editor for it today, And it is coming along nicely. I can place walls for now. As soon as I get a sample map made I will get to work on the rendering process. It should be working within a few days. However, The engine will only be displaying walls for now, Since it will take me a bit longer to figure out the algorithm for drawing the floor and ceiling. I have already made a promise that I would have a basic demo version ready by this upcoming Saturday. Source will be released with the demo, But I don't know yet if I will include the source with the engine when it is finished.
