| ok, menus are nicely working :) just gotta get that damn text menu item sorted.. hmmm could be trikey. I think i will leave it for now. also, treeviews were being weird ages ago, you may remember or may not, but the plus sign was turning into a black box. fixed that as well.
and a final note, z-ordering is back in action (you could click buttons and rollouts when a menu is open - not good!) | acid2 Entry: 5 12/31/2003 03:02 AM
| well, menus are done sorta... i need to add sub menus, check boxes, and images. and seperaters, but the system itself is done! :S Anyhow, im goign to sleep now, i'll tackel this biatch tommorrow | acid2 Entry: 4 12/30/2003 02:10 AM
| well, there we go polarGui has hit the cybershelves oh blitzcoder. haevn't actually got any good comments yet, but i'll leave it a while. the menus have a menubar, and menucats (actual titles), so i jsut need to make menu items and sub menus. then they are basically done. | acid2 Entry: 3 12/30/2003 02:07 AM
| 30 December 2003 [09:45:39] Well, still no idea about the optimizations so i've got back to work on the gadgets, yet again Tiff bailed me out (miracle worker :) ) and i have the checkboxes done. Think I'll add labels now, they could come pretty handy. Heh.
[11:12:19] Ah, isn't it great when you set out to do one thing and end out doing another? Haha, well I got the scrollbars on the rollouts done, they actually have an inside bar, but you cant drag it. :( That task isnt goin to be fun, so its going on hold. But I also did hyperlinks with images, so you can make exact xp rollouts, yey!
[12:04:28] First time I've used BlitzArrays, and they are nice! No dimming involved, but your restricted to only 1 dimension. I used it to add lines to label gadget, you just start a new line using Chr(10) which is nice. Limited to 500 lines, but all i have to do is stick that up one, or a few hundred :)
[12:50:33] Quite into treeview development now. And i just go to remind this, to explain to myself what im doing. Heh "Create a treeview as normal. The update treeview function updates all the nodes parented to the treeview. But for each node, that calls a function to update nodes with that node as the parent. Phew." Well, thats it in a nutshell anyway :)
[14:46:38] Phew, am I glad that ordeal is over. Treeviews are almost completed but the need to have scrollbars, and i really cant be fu...bothered with that right now, so onto another task... I think a slider would be nice :) But first, while my brain is at its highest knowledge - heh, yea right - i might as well tackle menus. And these are going to be damn good menus. I need to have them checkable, allow data input, keyboard shortcuts, images. I dont think anyone has done inputs in a menu yet. Lets do it ^_^ | acid2 Entry: 2 12/30/2003 02:06 AM
| 27 December 2003 [00:49:10] Meh, very early and im tired but I got scrolling almost completed. Just need to add a limit when scrolling down, a scrollbar, and a scroll timer (so you can define speeds). Also I need to add gadgets into the boxes. Also, i'd like to have the window gadgets drawn onto a window image, if there is no other way to stop gadgets "offsetting".
[09:29:48] Well here we are, new day new start. I've set the rollout item in my todo list to "91% completeted" because all there is left to do is get gadgets to fit in there. Well time to get coding.
[10:09:35] Woohoo! It took alot of tweaking but i finally got buttons 100% perfect in scrollboxes :) Just working on adding other controls into the scrollbox, then i think I will show you the current standing framework of a gadget. [10:29:02] Radio Buttons Working
[11:55:13] Well, after much searching google images, i was unable to get a windows xp checkbox shot :P I did however, get the tab one, some i'll work on that :) Shouldn't be much more tricky than the rollouts (now i've got a good drawing structure defined). Wish me luck!
[12:36:18] Ahhh, first major bug just fixed, that was one hell of a puzzle :P I just did a final test: multiple rollouts. The buttons all went in the correct rollouts, but it was crazy, you could expand one rollout item and it would effect the positions of the buttons in the other rollouts. It was easily fixed though, but i couldnt work out what was going on. There's half an hour put to good use? Should have taken 5 mins... Ah well, back to the tabs
[13:35:27] All going well so far. I just got the tab looks completed, just need to add some mouse interaction. Then another thing to check off . Yey! [13:40:32] God that was easy! Now just to allow controls to go into it :)
[13:46:30] Mission Accomplished! That was actually, suprisingly easy. Ok, I got a new objective though. If you have multiple windows, you can click the top window, and it effects gadgets behind. Like, you click where a radio button should be, but isnt because another window covers it, it still gets checked. Easy enough to solve, but needs to be done while i think about it. Done ^_^
[14:17:36] I think its about time that I began optimizing :) I'll get to work on that later, I need a break! | acid2 Entry: 1 12/30/2003 02:05 AM
| 26th December 2003 (Boxing Day) [21:15:23] Started work on the xp styled rollouts today. You know, the ones that are down the left hand side of the my computer, control panel etc windows on xp. Anyhow, I've got them layed out perfectly and the can be expanded and collapsed in any order. The need a funky arrow button, that way it looks neater. I've not managed to get the actual gadgets to go into the rollouts as of yet, but buttons have could that allows them to be created in rollouts.
[21:23:35] Well, just attempted to add another rollitem to the rollout. It worked (it also had a different height - I throw that in there just to check that all sizes worked, yep) but it goes out of the rollout!!! Not good. After checked the code i realised i was an idiot, maybe you all new that ^_^. I had set the viewport to the entire screen, a command meant to be after the rollouts were drawn! Few, all working fine, thats put a nice smile on my face. Going to need some scrollbars now. The only problem is - i dont have windows xp, so i cant check to see how they should look!
[22:13:07] Tiff just done me a huge favour, and sent me images of the scrollbar, highlighted, down and everything, and also the xp buttons! Many thanks to Tiff! Also, im moving the image from drawings with plots into an array. I'll have the structure ready to show soon.
