| a days work nearly over! i might start working soon again so this is just the halfway point but basically tonight this is what i did:
rewrote combat: it is now client side and much harder to hack, the range system is flawless, the only thing missing is if you're facing the monster or not + my only monster now got a facelift! he is a tranclucent sphere!!
monsters are a little more dynamic now but for tommorow or whenever ive got to make them attack ( and not some boring one where they attack everyt time you attack, they gotta be at different paces ) monsters now respawn! so you can run around killing monsters forever! i did some tests, default i only have about 10 monsters but i tested it with 40 then 100 and there weren't any speed drops at all.
now what i need to work on is!!!!! like i said monsters attacking .. uhmm ....... animations for monsters and you attacking REDO the current walking animations etc they are hard shitty monsters need to attack back! and also if you try and run away they need to chace you ( could be tough) after combat is fully implented like above then i will add character saving etc and exp lvl blah blah till tommorow or next time ... | k3nshin0 Entry: 1 12/24/2004 04:01 PM
| Well i really need to work on how the monster commicates with the player. The player pretty much handles more then it needs to ( easy to hack ) what i plan to change is making when you can attack etc client side. Probably tommorow or after christmas im going to rewrite how combat+ monsters is handled because right now all you can do is attack the monster, and kill it, problems with HP displaying on client also should be hard to fix. Server side the monster updates alot more then it should, i should only update if there is a state change like HP etc ( client sending that it wants to attack whatever monsters, then it checks if he is in range, gives the OKAY, then the server does the blah blah calculations, sets the monsters to automatically attack the player in a seperate loop ) also im gonna need a new monster model because this box isnt cutting it LOL
after combat and monsters are working that'll put me on version .03 my plan for the first public release is .05 goal NPCS,EXP,LVLS,ITEMS,INVENTORY, COUPLE types of monsters .. we'll see
also i need to make the world have some items hehe |
