| 06/04/2004 I really have been working on this a ton.
There are 3 different games, and 3 modes for each. They are:
Normal: Regular game play, game speed increases each level, slows a bit every three ___ slow game: leisurely play ___ fast game: faster play for the impatient ___ 4 tile minimum: words must have at least 4 tiles in them to count
Progressive: minimum number of tiles and game speed change each level ___ normal game: normalish ___ fast game: fastish ___ extra tile challenge: same as normal mode but the minimum number of tiles for the levels is increased by one
Timed: The game gets faster & faster until the timer runs out ___ 5:00 time limit ___ 10:00 time limit ___ 15:00 time limit
There are nine different high score lists, one for each game mode.
A new tile has been added: the gold tile. When you spell a word with a gold tile, a gold bar is added under your score. When you collect 5 gold tiles, you get a Scramble. Scrambles can be saved up until you need them. Scrambles mix up all the letters on the board and add some tiles as well. This comes in handy when you are stuck or when you are running out of tiles.
Artwork is being done for all the levels, however I am keeping the photography and it will be an option to use those images for the backgrounds. |

| Uhhhh... not sure what's going on.
I started putting in wildcard tiles which I think are a bad idea. I may change my mind. Haven't worked on the game for a little while though. |

I've changed out the leveling requirements to be tile-based rather than score based. This offers more incentive to score as highly as possible before the board speeds up. Still balancing levels so it's not too boring and not too impossible. It's irritating work.
And before I forget - I want to save stats each game! |

Vestigial title screen added, adding new multi-letter tiles for your face to be in front of. Trying to figure out how exploding combos might play a part in a word search puzzle... hmmm.
Maybe every fifth word you find, human limbs explode out of the word with blood everywhere and it spells out "BLOODALITY!" in blood all over the screen while a flaming skull face flies by screaming "TEN BAJILLION POINTS! TKO!" and this is how you feed your VirtualTetris Pet (TM).

Did some more work on it, including vestigial high score list and a ranking system. Someone was signed on for graphics work but he seems to have dropped off the face of the earth, as artists seem to do for some reason. |

Double letter score and double word score tiles, better level balancing, completely rewrote the word validator function to find any word in the dictionary in under 20 tries. It now runs in full screen mode, there are random hints and text that scrolls by when you do something cool. I also put in placeholders for the title screen, game over screen and high score entry. What else... oh, there's a submit button now, just in case you can't figure out how to hit the space bar.

Yay, I'm pulling a puzzle game out of my bo-hinder. Plenty of extras planned, but the basic beta is playable so I uploaded it for the heck of it. |
