Changing the Blitz Basic Compiled Program Icon:

So you've just created your awesome game, and you want to show the world. There is just one problem. The icon is a red rocket, which has nothing to do with your game, but you don't know how to change it. Well, I'm going to show you how.

The first thing you're going to need is Resource Hacker. Resource Hacker is a program that allows you to hack into an .exe file and edit it's resources (hence the name). You can find it here:

The next thing your going to need is an icon file. Icons must be in the format .ico. In order to make that file you'll need an icon maker program. I suggest Irfanview, which you can get here:

Now that you've downloaded and unzipped Resource Hacker, and created your icon file, you're ready to go!

First open resource hacker, then go File->Open and find the .exe file you want to change.

Once it opens, you should see a bunch of folders. One should be called icon.

Now open the icon folder and the next folder inside it, and you should see a file called 1033(or something like it.)

Right click on that file and click Replace Resource.

A new window will pop up. Click on the button labeled "Open file with new icon" and select your .ico file from the list.

Click the replace button, and it should replace the old icon with the new one.

Now just go File->Save and your done!

If it doesn't show the changes, try pressing F5 a couple times to refresh your screen. If it still doesn't show the changes, try restaring your computer.
